Steve, who was born in Salisbury on 27 July, 1953, is an accomplished musician of many years standing who is well known on the South African circuit.

He left Rhodesia as a child when his parents relocated to South Africa and he attended high school at Bergvliet High in Cape Town.

After losing his wife to brain cancer in 2013, he was diagnosed with mouth and jaw cancer shortly afterwards and has been through a prolonged period of treatment, including extensive surgeries.  In September, 2020, in remission, Steven released a reggae-based album of new material entitled ‘Lucky Packet’.  The album has been well received.
